Our on-site school-led Nursery provides excellent care and education for children aged from two years, and is teacher led.
YVPS Nursery is led by teacher Paula Rudall, who works very closely with our Early Years Phase Leader, Tonia Dudley. Amy also works alongside our Deputy Phase Lead, Laura Mercy and our two Reception class teachers, Julie Milgate and Megan Simmonds, forming our very successful Foundation Stage teaching team. Nursery Plus is a Devon educational outreach service which works with nursery-age children identified with additional or Special Educational Needs. The Nursery delivers the first part of the Early Years Foundation Stage, which is continued through into the Reception class, providing progression matched to each child’s developmental stages from two to five years.
We are an inclusive and innovative school which endeavours to create an environment which fosters a love of learning and offers opportunities for children to work both collaboratively and independently to meet their full potential. Our Nursery strives to provide a wide range of opportunities and experiences to encourage our youngest children to develop their natural curiosity and thinking skills. In this way they will develop the foundations upon which they will continue to build throughout their school career and beyond.
